Main Idea and Details

The main idea is what a paragraph is mostly about. A detail is a smaller fact. Read all three paragraphs before you choose.

1.Three paragraphs

A school garden. Every Friday, Aisha's class cares for the school garden. They water the beans, pull weeds and pick ripe tomatoes. The garden gives them fresh food and a quiet place to learn. How to wash hands. Wash your hands before you eat and after you play outside. Use soap and water. Rub your palms, thumbs and nails, then rinse and dry them. Clean hands help stop germs from spreading. Why bees matter. Bees visit flowers to collect nectar. While they fly from bloom to bloom, pollen sticks to their bodies and moves to other flowers. That work helps many plants make fruit and seeds.
